I know I talked about very similar topics (the intense high school → prestigious college → elite finance firm track, and the toll that fitting myself into that mold took on me) in my most recent paid post, but I’m giving this topic another go because my first attempt, in being so lighthearted, missed much of the depth that I actually feel. It’s fun to write posts making fun of myself and my inordinate jealousy of people who fit into that mold, but it’s not the full story.
I have a lighthearted public post in the works to be published soon on a direct intervention that’s helping me become a much more effective learner (tai chi), but I wanted to share some of the deepest and most personal thoughts with my paid subscribers. I’m only sharing these thoughts with my paid subscribers because 1.) it’s good content and 2.) if my coworkers are going to find out the depths of my problems, they better at least be paying me.
Anyways, let’s dig in.
